just think, you can buy at least four old fun boats for the
price of a new one. Your new one becomes a
disappointment as it loses its stiffness and newness
after three years or so, but four 'bangers' would last a
lifetime.
don't be disheartened, there is more to cat sailing than
racing. Hobies were designed for surfing, not racing.
You can push a 'banger' to the edge and not care what
happens. You can care too much about a new boat
unless your loaded!
