I recommend at Hobie 16. It can be sailed single handedly (although it has a load of power and requires a good deal skill to sail it in strong winds single handedly). But it is a fantastic 2 crew boat. The best part about the boat is its power and its ability to sail in very big seas as well as flat calm lakes.
The other major advantage is that the Hobie 16 is the second biggest selling boat int the world to the laser and thus it means you can go practically anywhere in the world and sail one (even race them). Since it is made by Hobiecat there is also a very strong backing for supplies and equipment.
