on PY, the Dart rates as quicker than the 16, but on the
more recognised measurement based SCHRS, the
Dart rates as 2 minutes slower.
How they compare truly often depends on wind strength
and course set.
If all the cats are sailing together in a class - suggest
you use SCHRS found at www.schrs.com rather than
PY, as most cat classes do not have a PY, particularly
the likes of an A Class which usually sail under
individual measurement certificates.
Because of the difference between the two, i always
prefer to sail Darts and Hobies of the same handicap -
first over the line wins. Much better racing that way,
anyway!
