Try a hobie 16 singlehanded and you most definately wont Die!!! I think you seriously should try moving out of a poxy little dragoon into something with a sail bigger than a hankerchief then decide on whats hard or not. On a more serious note the h16 isnt ideal for singlehanded as you will start getting freaked out by the wind if you aint careful. I would recommend the Hobie 14 as it has Bullit proof consruction unlike the Dart 15. (I know 3 darts that have been written off in situations where the hobie would have bounced!!) It is fun singlehanded and can be sailed two up with jib. They are also cheap (<£1000) and have the same good hobie back up as the 16. Downside is poor fleet racing. But definately wicked fun especially in a blow.

What ever u decide have fun Cat sailing and hopefully u will move up to a proper boat!!!!!
